We held an event in the Chattanooga and Cleveland areas for ages 14u and 15u on July 9-11. Sadly, our championship games got washed out due to bad weather, but we saw some awesome competition.

MT Raiders vs Diamond Legends 

Harrison got the start for Diamond legends, and struck out the side in the first inning. Henson Started for MT Raiders, and worked a 1-2-3 first, striking out two. Harrison worked another clean second inning, going three up, three down. Henson ran into trouble in the bottom half of the second, but he managed to work it out. The Raiders scratched two runs in the top of the third on a throwing error, making the score 2-0. Tyler brought in a run for the Legends in the bottom of the third, making it 2-1. They went on to add two more on fielder’s choice, making the score 3-2 Diamond Legends. The Legends scratched another in the bottom of the fourth on a sac fly to make the score 4-2. The Legends scored again in the sixth on an RBI single from Samison.

Big League Wildcats vs Hustle Factory Select 

Jones started the game for Hustle Factory, tossing his first two innings perfectly. Wilkerson started on the other side for the Wildcats and ran into some trouble, but also worked out of his first two innings scoreless. Holloway scored two on an RBI double for the Wildcats in the top of the third, giving the Wildcats a 2-0 lead. Both pitchers continued to duel late into the game, keeping this one 2-0 after the top of the sixth. Hustle Factory scored one in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI from Bawcum. Hustle Factory walked this one off on an E5 to win 3-2.

Diamond Legends vs Hustle Factory Select 

Hustle Factory worked a scoreless first inning thanks to a couple of great plays from Langan at third. The Legends stranded a couple of runners in the bottom of the first, keeping the score 0-0 after one. Hustle Factory went another inning without allowing a base runner. Hustle Factory continued to get runners on base, but could not get them to score. The Legends got things going on offense in the third, however they stranded their two base runners as well. In the bottom of the third, Hustle Factory stranded another runner, keeping the score 0-0 after three. Hustle Factory scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single from Poenske. Later in the inning, runs were scored on an error and an RBI double from Langan. After five, the score was 5-0, Hustle Factory. The Legends scored on an RBI single from Van Ness to get on the board, 5-1. Right after that, #14 hit an RBI double to bring the score to 5-3. After two walked-in runs, the Legends were up 7-5 going into the bottom of the seventh.

Old Hickory Baseball Club 15u vs Yankees Baseball Club

Both teams stranded runners in the first inning, making the score 0-0. The Yankees struck first on an RBI single from Loza; they led 1-0 after the top of the second. The Yankees scored three more in the top of the third on a handful of errors by Old Hickory, making it 4-0. Old Hickory scored one in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI single from Highfill. Both pitchers worked scoreless into the sixth inning. Old Hickory scratched two in the top of the seventh, but it was not enough.

Big League Wildcats vs Nashville Baseball Academy

The Grizzlies scored one in the first on an RBI sac fly from Finn, and then scored on a passed ball in the top of the first, giving them a 2-0 lead. The Wildcats answered back in the bottom of the inning with an eight-spot on a handful of walks and errors by the Grizzlies. Holloway 

worked a scoreless second for the Wildcats, keeping the score at 8-2. Both teams scored a run in the third, but this one had to end because of field conditions, 9-3 Wildcats.

Hustle Baseball vs Pirates Baseball Orange

Hustle Baseball scored three runs in the top of the first inning on a hit batter, a walk, and three errors. The Hustle added another run on yet another error from the Pirates, taking a 4-0 lead after the top of the second. The Pirates scored three in the bottom of the second on a walk, and an RBI single from Lee.  #25 gave the Hustle the lead on an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth, making it 5-4. The Hustle exploded for five runs over the next two innings, with the Pirates answering back in the seventh. However, Hustle Baseball held on to win 10-8.

Diamond Dawgs vs Nashville Warriors

Diamond Dawgs worked a 1-2-3 inning behind some great pitching from Tyler and a good defense behind him. The Dawgs wasted no time in this one, scoring twelve runs in the first inning on seven hits, four walks, and three errors made by the Warriors. The Warriors worked quickly in the top of the second and put up a 1-2-3 inning of their own. Tyler threw a three-inning no-hitter to lead the Dawgs to a 12-0 Victory.

Longhorns 14u vs Pirates Baseball Black

The Pirates came out swinging it hot in this one, scoring three runs in the first inning with three back-to-back RBIs. The Pirates extended this lead on a sac fly and a passed ball to make the score 5-2. The Longhorns scraped together two runs in the fourth, and two more in the fifth. In the bottom of the sixth, the Longhorns scraped and brought the winning run to the plate. The game ended due to the time limit.

Diamond Dawgs vs Diamond USA

This game started quickly with a 1-2-3 inning from the Diamond Dawgs in the field. The Diamond Dawgs opened up the bottom of the first with an RBI single by Dallis Traewick, and racked up three more runs after that. Diamond USA scratched up four runs in the bottom of the fifth to bring the score to 6-5. Diamond USA crept up on the heels of the Dawgs as they went to make a pitching change. The Diamond Dawgs got out of the inning and scored two more before the game ended due to the time limit.

Nashville Warriors vs Diamond USA

This game was scoreless in the first inning, but the Warriors got things rolling in the second. This game was defined by capitalizing on the small mistakes of the other team. The Warriors really took advantage of this strategy in the top of the fifth when they scored three runs on errors and mental mistakes by Diamond USA. This inning was enough to carry the Warriors to victory.

Nashville Warriors vs Middle Tennessee Diamondbacks

The Warriors scored two runs in the first inning. They piled on two more in the bottom of the second inning. However, MT Diamondbacks put up five runs off of three passed balls, a throwing error, and a sac fly in the top of the third inning  The Warriors responded in the bottom of the third with a RBI double from #2, and another run off of a passed ball, making the score 6-5 going into the fourth. In the bottom of the fourth, the Warriors extended their lead by seven runs when #2 hit a base-clearing inside-the-park homer. #23 Peyton Martin responded with a solo shot. Sadly, this short burst of energy was not enough to keep them going.

MT Raiders vs Hustle Factory South- Ammons

The Raiders started this game off in the bottom of the second inning, scoring a run on a double. Hustle Factory turned things around quickly, and put up two runs in response. In the top of the fourth, they put up another two off of runs that were walked in. Both teams threw up goose eggs in the fifth inning, as well as the sixth. The Raiders shut down Hustle Factory in the top of the seventh, ending the game.

Pirates Baseball Black vs Longhorns 14u

This game was quiet through the first two innings thanks to great defensive performances. The Longhorns were the first to strike on offense with one quick run in the top of the third, however, the Pirates responded back with two of their own. The Longhorns came back in the top of the fourth to tie the game up 2-2 going into the fifth. The Pirates held off the Longhorns in the top of the inning, and put up another run to make the game 3-2. The Longhorns responded with the tying run, and then the winning run in the top of the sixth.

Longhorns 14u vs Rock Creek Baseball

This game was slow through the first few innings with little action. Rock Creek broke the ice with the first run of the day. The Longhorns responded with a very conservative play style. They bunted runners over and relied on singles and conservative play to stack up runs over innings. This play style worked along with their reliance on defense. In the top of the seventh, the Longhorns had some trouble finding the zone, which allowed Rock Creek to come out of nowhere and put up two runs.

Diamond Dawgs vs Longhorns 14u

After a scoreless first inning, the Dawgs jumped out to a lead by putting up eight runs in the bottom of the second thanks to four singles and four walks in the inning. The Dawgs added on to their lead with two runs in the bottom of the third with four hitters drawing walks in the inning. The Longhorns cut into the lead with two runs of their own in the fourth inning, but it proved not enough as the Dawgs cruised to a 10-2 victory.

Nashville Baseball Academy vs Redbirds Baseball Club Red

Nashville Baseball Academy jumped out to an early lead when they put up three runs in the top of the second inning after a scoreless first for both sides. Both teams were held scoreless in the third, but NBA added to their lead with seven runs in the fourth thanks to four hits and five walks. NBA held the Redbirds scoreless throughout the entirety of the game to hold on to the 10-0 victory.

Hustle Factory South- Ammons vs Yankees Baseball Club

After both teams were held scoreless the first two innings, Hustle Factory broke out thanks to an RBI double by #21 Porter. After a scoreless third, Hustle Factory added to their lead with three runs of their own thanks to RBI hits by #8 Bedford and #21 Porter. Hustle Factory held the Yankees scoreless throughout the entirety of the contest, going on to win 4-0.

SWA Storm vs Rock Creek Baseball

Rock Creek jumped out to an early lead thanks to an RBI groundout by #1 Moon, giving them a 1-0 lead. This lead did not last long as SWA put up two runs in the bottom of the inning. After a scoreless second and third, SWA added on another run in the fourth thanks to an RBI single by #7 McCarthy. SWA continued to pile on in the fifth inning with two more runs, taking a four-run lead. SWA held Rock Creek scoreless after the first inning to win the contest 5-1.

Pirates Baseball Orange vs Middle Tennessee Diamondbacks

After both teams went scoreless in the first two innings, the Pirates broke out for three runs in the third, highlighted by an RBI double by #4 Lee. The Pirates added on another run in the fourth to push the lead to 4-0. The Pirates finished off with six runs in the fifth inning thanks in part to RBIs by #2 Dalrymple, #20 McCormick, and #8 Flemming. The Pirates held the Diamondbacks scoreless throughout the contest to win the game 10-0.

Pirates Baseball Orange vs SWA Storm

After a scoreless first inning, the Storm jumped out to a lead, putting up four runs in the top of the second inning. After both teams were held scoreless in the third, the Pirates answered back by putting up one run in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 4-1, Storm. Both teams were held scoreless the rest of the game, giving the Storm a 4-1 victory.

Kings vs Diamond Legends 

The Legends jumped out to an early lead thanks to RBI hits by #1 Christian and #27 Jamison. The Kings answered back in the second inning, cutting the lead to one. After both teams scored one run in the third inning, the Legends scored three runs in the fourth, capped off by a two RBI double from #00 Bryce. The Legends scored two more in the sixth inning, ending the game with an 8-2 victory.

Hustle Factory South- Ammons vs Big League Wildcats

The Wildcats jumped off to a hot start with three runs in the top of the first inning. Hustle Factory answered back immediately with one run in the bottom of the inning, cutting the lead to 3-1. After a scoreless second and third, Hustle Factory broke the game open with nine runs in the bottom of the fourth. This inning was capped off by RBI hits by #1 Kelsey, #8 Bedford, #3 Moore, #12 Holt, and #43 Staggs. Hustle Factory held the Wildcats scoreless for the remainder of the game, winning 11-3.
