In the first inning for the Tribe, three of the first four batters drew a walk, setting up a bases-loaded situation for the starting pitcher, #23 Topton. Topton settled up to the plate and delivered a shot off of the fence for a bases-clearing double. However, the Longhorns would battle back in the bottom of the second, stringing together four hits and scoring three to cut the deficit to 5-3. In the fourth inning, #23 Willson came up with the bases loaded and delivered a bases-clearing single, putting the Tribe up 8-3. The final pitcher, #7 Burnette, came in and closed the door for the Tribe.

The game started with a bang as Pro Concepts jumped to an early 6-0 lead.  The Raiders had an inning riddled with errors, giving the Concepts four of their six runs. The Raiders managed to score one run in the first but did not plate another run until the fourth inning where they plated three runs on a bases-clearing triple. The Raiders plated two more in the fifth to make it 7-6 going into the sixth inning. However, the Concepts managed to plate two more runs to make it 9-6. With an early two walks to the inning, the Raiders had hope, but two quick strikeouts drained the life from them.

Knoxville Tribe Baseball vs Baseball Mission

The entire game was error-filled. A few solid hits to drive home their runners is what ultimately led the Tribe to victory. The pitchers for both sides struggled with walking batters, and the ball must have had something against the fielders, as no ball was fielded cleanly. Storm, for the Tribe, had a solid game at the plate going 2-for-3 with a double, single, and two RBIs. Other than Storm, the game had no real standout performers.

TDK Baseball vs FX Baseball

FX was first on the board in the top of the first with a single from shortstop B. Leroy, who stole second and later came around to score the game’s first run. TDK answered back in the bottom of the first, plating two runs to put them up 2-1 heading into the second. FX added another run to tie the game up at 2 in the top of the fourth inning. However, TDK battled back, plating two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to put them up two runs. Griswold entered the seventh inning still on the mound, looking for the win and a complete game, but an early run and two runners on base with one out proved dangerous for TDK. An error on a relay throw allowed the go-ahead run to come in for FX in the top of the seventh. However, the Tribe battled back, and put a runner on second and first with one out in the bottom of the seventh. A grounder was hit to the shortstop resulting in an out at first. As an attempt to advance their positioning, they sent the runner from second to third, resulting in a bang-bang play at third. The runner was ultimately called out, ending the comeback for TDK.

In the third inning Miller continued his dominance, only hitting one batter (with this being the only batter to reach thus far).  The Silver Devils looked good today, starting the game strong with two line drives, resulting in the first two runs of the ball game. Miller took the start for the Silver Devils and did not give up a single hit or run through two innings. In the top of the third, Liuk walked his first three batters, setting up J. Jackson for a golden RBI opportunity. Jackson delivered a line drive to the left-center gap, clearing the bases and putting the Devils up 5-0. The Longhorns strung together a couple of hits and walks in the fifth inning, plating three, but a solid performance by the Devils on the mound helped secure the 6-3 victory.

Longhorns Baseball vs Team Easton

This game was a defensive showcase. The big highlight from the game was a sacrifice bunt attempt that ended up in a double play. In the top of the third, Team Easton executed a flawless bunt down the first-base line, but the Longhorns fielded it flawlessly, throwing the runner out at third and allowing the first baseman to throw the ball to third for the double play. The game remained stagnant; runs were scored with only passed balls and walks which tied the game at 1-1. The game ended in a way that I have never seen before. With runners on second and third and two outs, the pitcher stepped off the mound as the runner broke for the plate. The Longhorns got into the rundown, but they tripped the runner heading back to third, resulting in an obstruction and a walk-off victory for team Easton.
